“Violent Night” Review

This Christmas Eve Santa just isn’t feeling the holiday. That is until he sees one little girl who holds the true meaning of Christmas. The problem is she and her family are being held hostage in their own home. Now it’s time for Santa to remember his past and use it to rescue them and kick out the robber’s who mean to harm them.

Violent Night is definitely a Christmas film for the books as it combines elements of Home Alone meets Die Hart in it’s one unique way. It stars Hellboy‘s David Harbour as the comical Santa who definitely has a chip on his shoulder as he uses the anger inside to do the right thing for the family. Similarly John Leguizamo plays Scrooge, the leader of the band of robbers who also adds that element of comedy. Between the two of them, they set the stage for what is sure to be a fun action packed movie.

Despite the language, Violent Night is definitely a movie for anyone who likes their Santa a little on the rough side. That being said, it may not be for everyone but if you want a fun comedy with action, this is the one for you.

Violent Night came out in theaters December 2, 2022 and is currently playing in one near you.
