“The Protege” Review

Maggie Q is definitely showing her dauntless roots in the latest film, The Protege. One can definitely see why she was chosen as she can definitely give and take a punch.

The film follows Anna (Maggie Q) as she goes on missions to find bad guys who have “disappeared.” She is joined with Samuel L. Jackson as what appeared to be his “protege”. Jackson even at his age holds nothing back as he proves age is just a number. In a traditional Avenger moment, he also does a great job of disappearing himself as he leaves Anna to believe he is dead. That rage fuels her emotions to make him proud and complete the mission. While on the road to completing her next mission, she faces another assassin (Michael Keaton) as they struggle with emotions and rage as each one wants the other dead. The question is who will complete the mission and survive.

At an hour forty nine minute runtime, The Protege is the perfect action packed mobster type movie for the end of summer wrap up. It will have you on the edge of your seats rooting for Maggie Q and wondering who will be the next bad guy to get it. The film came out in theaters August 20th and is currently playing in a theater near you.

Viewer discretion is advised as it is rated R. There are a few intense bloody scenes as well as brief nudity.
