“The Amateur” REVIEW

It’s the secret operatives that the CIA is known for even at the risk of the entire family. When Henry’s wife is gunned down in Paris, he makes it his mission to bring justice to his wife’s death. The question is does he have what it takes.

The Amateur stars Oppenheimer’s Remi Malek as Heller and all in all, he does an exceptional job of showing what happens to man when he loses the love of his life. In a word, anything goes as he begins to train with CIA legend (Laurence Fishborne) until he realizes the real secrets with in. Then it is called a double agent cover up as he leers the ones responsible to their ultimate demise.

All in all, The Amateur, though one might question how true the CIA is being portrayed, one thing the movie does is question what is really happening on the inside. Both Malek and Fishborne do an excellent job of bringing that world to life even if it might not be completely realistic. It’s still entertaining for a movie night.

20th Century Studios The Amateur came out in theaters April 11th and is currently playing in one near you.
