“Tarot” REVIEW

“Your fate is in the deck”

That’s the heart of Tarot, when a group of friends find a mysterious deck of cards. Intrigued by the world of Astronomy, they decide to play with fate, not realizing what is inside. Question is will they be able to find their way out before all are doomed?

Tarot stars Mean Girl’s Avantika, Spiderman’s Jacob Batalon, Canadian actress Humberly Gonzalez, Indiana Jones’ Harriet Slater, Larsen Thompson and Soap star Adain Bradley; all of who a great job of capturing the suspense. They all had their own unique sense of bring terror to their characters, so that viewers were invested in what was going to happen next.

At an hour and a half runtime, Tarot is the perfect movie with all the jump scares. The actors all make the movie come together in a spooky way where you never know what is going to happen next. That being said the film is rated PG 13 and thus wouldn’t be recommended for a younger audience. There are quite a bit of gushing blood moments though, one must say the director was moderate in what was actually being shown. The scenes cut away before the demise of various characters, leaving one to wonder what actually happened, which in turn allows imagination to take over.

That being said, for fans of the horror franchise, Tarot is definitely worth seeing as one anticipates the upcoming spooky season this year. It’s currently playing in one near you.
