Strawberries in Encino

On the second Sunday in June, the California Strawberry Commission brought a miniature version to the city of Encino. Residents could buy, taste and take home their own strawberry plants. In addition to strawberries, the festival had fun bounce houses for kids, arts and crafts and even a cancer education group shared about the 43rd Annual Cancer Convention being held at a local hotel in Universal City on the first week in September.

5th Annual Native American Festival in Long Beach

On Saturday March 15, 2014 from 1 to 6, Long Beach residents experienced everything Native American at Shoreline Village in a Free Festival.  With music, storytelling and arts and crafts, people were able to learn a little about the Native culture.

Travel Town Museum in Griffith Park, Calif.

visitors to Southern California to explore.Outside of Train


There is also a mini train that goes around the outskirts of the museum that people can ride on for just$2.75 a person and have a unique experience of traveling through different settings of the historic museum.Travel Town Railroad Museum is home to several different types of trains and rail cars for all to see and experience at no charge.

The museum was founded in 1952 and is open to the public Monday through Friday, 10-4 and weekends, 10-5.

A Free Disney Attraction in Calif.

In the heart of Los Angeles, a hidden gem is located in Griffith Park.  Located near Travel Town, Carolwood Barn is open on the third Sunday every month at no charge.  The Barn was Walt Disney’s Original Barn that he built to be his workshop while he was still alive.  His daughter had it transported to the location over ten years ago to keep Disney’s dream alive for all generations.

On Monday Feb. 4, 2013, Yogurtland thanked its valuable customers by providing free yogurt across the nation for National Frozen Yogurt Day.
