In the latest installment of “Alice Through The Looking Glass“, the Walt Disney film takes places three years after Alice turns down Hamish’s proposal, and she returns from captaining her father’s ship, she returns home and is immediately presented with a new problem as she finds out her mother is about to give her share of her father’s company and boat over to Hamish, in an effort to save their house. Unwillingly to let go of the last piece of her father, Alice is drawn back to Wonderland this time through a mirror as she discovers the Mad Hatter is in trouble. Now it’s up to Alice to find out exactly what happened to the Hatter’s family and through a time traveling device, race to save them and get back before “time” stops forever in Wonderland.
“Alice Through the Looking Glass” brings back the original cast including Mia Wasikowska as Alice, Johnny Depp as the Hatter, Helena Bonham Carter as Iracebeth (Red Queen), Anne Hathaway as Mirana (White Queen) and of course, Alan Rickman, (who passed away the beginning of the year) as the voice of Absolem and adding to the cast this time, Sacha Baron Cohen as “Time”.
Overall, the film has action, adventure and suspense as Alice is reminded that the impossible is possible, though one can not change time, it doesn’t mean that one can’t use the past to learn from and figure out how to correct the future. At an hour and 53 minutes, it’s familiar story line will have audiences rooting for Alice and the Hatter as she discovers the truth about herself and her friends in Wonderland.
Alice Through the Looking Glass opens in theaters, Friday, May 27 and is currently playing in a theater near you. See it, you won’t be sorry.
