SW: The Rise of Skywalker- Review

The ultimate battle between good and evil rages on as Rey, the last training Jedi is determined to not let Luke down as she tries desperately to master the force of the Jedi. The problem is she can’t hear the voices of the Jedi’s as she starts to fear a possible fate of seeing herself on Emperor Palpatine’s throne. It is that fear that the new supreme leader Kilo Ren uses to feed off his new mission to bring Rey to the dark side.

At 2 hours, 22 minutes, The Rise of Skywalker is everything a true fan of Star Wars can expect. With epic battle scenes, powerful chemistry between Rey and Kilo Ren as well as Rey as Finn, one can almost ask themselves which love triangle is stronger.

The ending will leave one speechless and yet hopeful for the future although this might be the end of the official Star Wars saga, one might not lose hope for any spin offs in the works.

Additionally, the film answers the ultimate question as to exactly “Who is Rey?” as her family origin comes up several times, which causes Rey to doubt that she can really do this, especially when she realizes through the help of Kilo Ren, exactly who she is. This also raises another question which is answered by the end with the fact of family lineage and if that is more powerful than choice as to whether one is good or bad.

Without giving too much away, one can definitely be pleasantly surprised and enjoy the stunning conclusion to the epic saga that started in 1977. Now more than 50 years later, George Lucas is still amazing audiences with his stunning story that is out of this world and making people sit on the edge of their seats with excitement, amazement and enjoyment.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker came out Dec 20th and took number one at the box office opening weekend with a record 177 million. It’s currently playing at a theater near you. See it and finish the decade off with a bang.
