“Somewhere In Queens” REVIEW

Ray Romano brings drama and comedy to the big screen in his first directorial debut, Somewhere in Queens.

The film follows a traditional Italian family living in New York as they show the struggle of parents as they watch their only child grow and learn from both college goals as well as first love and ultimately, it’s the biggest struggle and that is learning to let go and move on to the next phase of their lives.

Romano, who also stars as the leading performer along side Lady Bird‘s Laurie Metcalf, provides exceptional chemistry as both must face various demons while putting on a good front for those who see them on a daily basis.

Additionally the film stars a long list of actors including various members of the Romano family. All in all, Somewhere in Queens is a film for anyone who is a fan of Ray Romano, though it does have a bit of language and conduct that may not be acceptable to just any audience. That being said, the film is a stunning display of Romano’s well known comedy as he expands on his directorial focus. Anyone who is a fan of his 90’s comedy series, Everyone Loves Raymond should see Somewhere in Queens. It will certainly have you laughing throughout.

The film came out in theaters April 21 and is currently playing in one near you.
