” Society of Second Born Royals” Review

Sam never quite fit in as a traditional Princess especially in the shadow of her older sister, but that was until one summer on the eve of her sister’s coronation, Sam discovers her life is about to change. What she doesn’t realize is that this change in her will have a more impactful role when her country of Illyria is threatened by the one person who she held in high regards before she was told died along with her father in a tragic airplane crash.

A Disney channel original movie, airing exclusively on the streaming service Disney plus, Secret Society of Second Born Royals brings Avenger type action to a younger audience. The cast are familiars from the Disney Channel family including, Andi Mack‘s Peyton Elizabeth Lee as Sam, Once Upon A Time‘s Isabella Blake Thomas as January, Olivia Deeble as Princess Roxana, This Is Us’ Niles Fitch as Tuma and Faly Rakotohavana as Matteo. All in all, the dynamics between these five young actors drive the film as a whole. The unpredictability makes audiences want to know what is going to happen as well as the bit of comedy makes the film that much more entertaining.

Overall the film which came out on Disney plus on September 25 is a must see for anyone who loves Disney and loves the sense of a nontraditional princess movie. With twists and turns around every corner, one won’t know what to expect and it will leave you longing for the hopes of a sequel. Secret Society of Second Born Royals is currently streaming on any device that has Disney plus installed for your viewing pleasure.
