The beloved 1937 classic is making its musical debut in the latest Snow White. Overall, the new rendition does a spectacular job of taking the original story concept and enhancing it with stellar graphics and original new songs that fans didn’t know we needed until we hear them.
The film stars West Side Story‘s Rachel Ziegler, who despite all the controversy, does an exceptional job of bringing Snow White to life and making her have a true purpose. One might call this typical in the wake of women’s rights, but that shouldn’t matter. She exquisitely captures the essence of the character; while belting out notes that will make audiences go “wow”. Ziegler definitely is an actress to watch as the skies are the limit to what she can do.
Similarly, Gal Gadot goes from Wonder Woman hero to the infamous Evil Queen, and one must say she doesn’t disappoint. Gadot steps into the role with such ease and grace that the former Evil Queens will certainly stop and take notice.
Another highlight of the film is for the first time we see Snow White’s parents and a younger version of Snow White to fully understand why she is indeed “the fairest of the land”. Of course, the film is not complete without the dwarfs and the separation of the bandits, creates a new element that Snow White must address before taking on the Queen.
All in all, at an hour 49-minute runtime, Snow White will have fans gushing at the elements from the original while in complete awe of what they never knew they were missing. The songs are catchy, two tapping songs that truly capture the essence of just who Snow White really is. Coming out in theaters March 21, 2025, it is currently playing in one near you.
