“Smile 2” REVIEW

The next chapter in the Smile franchise makes it scare. This time, the story is centered around a worldwide pop icon as she attempts to make her come back. Everything is great until she witnesses a friend’s suicide. It’s that suicide that sends people her way with nothing more than a smile. But be careful of the smile, because that smile could drive one insane.

Smile 2 is an action packed, highly entertain-able film that will surely have audiences on the edge of their seats and jumping at each intense smile on the screen. Starring the live action Aladdin’s Naomi Scott as Skye Riley, she does a great job of capturing that fear. Also for those that remember the voice, we are not disappointed as she has a few iconic and yet original songs that will have your toe tapping even while scared out of your mind for what is to happen next.

The cast also welcomes back, Kyle Gallner from the original Smile as he attempts to save Skye from her impending doom. Additionally, the film also introduces Drew Barrymore as herself from her popular talk show.

All in all, the film does contain quite a few jump scares, though aside from that the story is quite shallow. There is a lot going on, which in and of it self will have audiences trying to fully understand just what the plot line. Don’t take my word, though. See it as it comes to theaters October 18th only to one near you.
