“Sight” Movie REVIEW

Based on the remarkable true story of renowned Chinese eye doctor, Sight is a must see for the whole family. It’s good old clean entertainment with no foul language, though the content might make it sensitive to young audiences.

Sight tells the story of Dr. Ming Wang as he is deeply inspired to do everything in his power to save the eyesight of a little girl from India who had her vision compromised by her evil stepmother. Unfortunately even with all the tireless treatment, the girl remains blind however it is the remarkable faith and will power to will inspire the world, specifically Dr. Wang to keep on going and never lose sight of what is most important.

The film in a whole is an inspirational tale of never giving up even when all odds are against you to fail. Starring The Good Doctor‘s Terri Chen, who definitely plays the “good doctor” to a tee. One can definitely see the same creative drive from years as Owen as he steps up as yet another doctor trying to save lives and restore sight. Chen excels in capturing that even when he knows there is almost no chance of a successful outcome. He still knows he must try even to just give a bit of hope to a young child.

Similar the film also stars Heaven’s Greg Kinnear as the secondary doctor consulting to save lives. Kinnear equally excels in a role which one would say is opposite from others. Instead of being the parent with a wish, he is the doctor trying to make the wish come true. That being said, he definitely uses his emotions to fully drive his character especially as he interacts with Chen.

Sight is a film created by Angel Studios as they urge people to get out and see such a powerful story for the Memorial Day weekend. They even have their “Pay it Forward” campaign in hopes of share this story with the world and keeping it in theaters as long as it takes. See it in one before its too late. You definitely won’t regret it.
