“Reagan” REVIEW

The historical biopic about one of the greatest Presidents of the 20th century is quickly catching up to Marvel’s Deadpool and Wolverine as it claims number 2 from Monday nights totals.

The film follows the life of Ronald Reagan from childhood to stage and ultimately his run in the Oval Office in 1981 which was a rocky yet powerful role as he went from assassination attempt to being accused of faulty acts which lead to a case of possible impeachment. The film didn’t stop there as it showed post presidency, living out his days on his ranch in Simi Valley and ultimately his battle with Alzheimer’s Disease that ultimately took his life in 2004.

Dennis Quaid, who played Reagan, ultimate did an exceptional job as he captured all the roller coaster of emotions including falling in love with Nancy, the love of his life, which stood by him through think and thin especially at the end of his life. Equally, Penelope Ann Miller, who played Nancy Reagan also did a fine job of capturing the real Nancy Reagan as she stood by and followed him through it all.

Overall, Reagan is a powerful biopic that eloquently shows the life and struggles of a great man. It’ll truly make anyone watching it, proud to be an American and a Christian, no matter what political party, one will hope to respect the film for what it is.

Reagan came out in theaters August 30th and is currently playing in one near you.
