“Priscilla” Review

The biopic based on the life of Priscilla Presley, is causing audiences to take another look at their famed King of Rock. The film covers the course of life from when Elvis first seduces teen Priscilla into a “safe” yet seductive relationship to the final moment when she realizes she isn’t the only love in Elvis’ life. It also shows the relationship between both Elvis’ family and Priscilla’s that will have you wondering just how one’s parents let their only child be seduced by such an older man.

The powerful biopic stars Pacific Rim‘s Cailee Spaeny as Priscilla and one might say she does a spectacular job of capturing the essence and emotion of a woman trying to hold on to love even when the man she is with is not around. Similar, Jacob Elordi stars as the infamous Elvis and has every move down pat.

As good as last year’s biopic, Elvis, Priscilla shares a lot of the same similarities, including the drug addiction that Elvis had as he persuaded Priscilla to lead the same life. It’ll be interesting to see if this movie has any award nominations especially coming out ahead of the upcoming award season.

Priscilla came out in theaters Nov 3 and is currently showing in one near you.
