“Paul’s Promise” REVIEW

It’s the unforgettable true story of one of the founders of Friendly Chapel Church that will truly touch your heart. The film shows the powerful devotion of a mother’s love who fights to stay alive long enough for her son to come to know Jesus. That son, is Paul Holderfield, a racist firefighter who grew away from his close friend, when his abusive father made him go to an all white school.

The question is will Paul be able to come back and keep his promise to his dying mother and more importantly will his life change.

At an hour thirty four minute runtime, Paul’s Promise will have you captivated by the willingness of a mother, under the care of a black nurse who ends up being the mother of Paul’s childhood friend whom he turned his back on long ago.

The film stars Ryan Quinn, who is known for starring a list of faith based Movies including Believe. Quinn’s emotional role as Paul, a man trying not to follow in the same pattern as his father, does well in showing the struggle of this as he tries to be strong and not rely on anyone else.

His mother, Minnie Holderfield (played by TV star, Linda Purl) displays the true power of a God fearing woman, and Purl does an awesome job of capturing that on screen. One definitely feels the power of prayer throughout the movie that carries the story in these two as well as his childhood friend, Jimmy (Josef Cannon) who equally shows the faith as he cares for orphan and helpless children in Arkansas.

All in all, Paul’s Promise is the fill good movie that will uplift spirits and cause them to hopefully see the power in prayer even when all hope seems lost. The powerful faith based is currently playing in select theaters near you.
