When a woman thinks she has nothing left but the bottle, she gets inspiration to do something completely of her comfort zone in order to save the life of a little girl. The only question is can she do it alone or will others rally together behind her to do the impossible.
The Good Mother‘s Hilary Swank stars as that fearless woman in what is sure to be one of her most inspirational roles yet. Swank truly embraces that fearlessness in in the midst of the struggles that the character is going through with her own son. She is a shining example of what we all need and that is an angel, even in the most humble way.
Ordinary Angels is based on the true story of Sharon Stevens and how she put aside her own pain to help that of a widowed father and his youngest daughter with a rare cancer. It’s a story of hope when all else seems to be going against them and the idea of remaining strong in the faith no matter what. Fast X‘s Alan Ritchson plays that father and like Swank also portrays such a powerful, inspirational role. He carries the burdens of being left with two young daughters and the struggles of that especially when one is so sick and the fear of death is inevitable. That being said, it’s truly a tale of faith at its heart and Ritchson does a phenomenal job.
Like War Room, Ordinary Angels is a film that will have you cheering for God even when the actors are at their lowest moments. It’s definitely one that will have you fully invested in the story that shook the little town of Kentucky and caused everyone to come together and just be a good neighbor when someone is in trouble. It’s the type of movie that everyone show see, even if one is questioning their faith. It’ll make one see that all it takes is a little kindness to make the difference.
Ordinary Angels came out officially February 23 with special performances the night before. It is currently playing in a theater near you. See it, you won’t regret it.
