“Morbius” Review

There is a new villain lurking in the wings as Morbius comes to life on the big screen. Morbius will be the blood sucking vampire that challenges Spiderman in the original comic books. That concept is also teased in the mid credits scene which keeps audience in suspense as to what the next film will be.

In the newest film, it is all about origins as we learn just what makes Michael Morbius, who he is. As a child, audiences learn of Morbius’ rare blood disorder that plagues not only him but several defenseless children. As his mission, he sets out to finds a cure which ends up taking over his body in more ways than he can imagine. Now it’s a battle between good and evil inwardly as he fights to conquer his deepest obsession, blood.

The 2022 film Morbius stars Suicide Squad‘s Jared Leto as the infamous Morbius and does an exceptional job as one facing the challenges of fighting off demons when he thinks he is suddenly cured. There is also the element of insanity that one could definitely say Leto took his experience as Joker and applied to the role of Morbius.

Additionally the film stars Fast and the FuriousTyrese Gibson and The Way Back’s Al Madrigal as the authority meant to bring Morbius down. All in all Gibson and Madrigal work together seamlessly to move the story line and keep people wondering is it Morbius or something else.

In the end, one will just have to see the film to find out what really happens and answer the ultimate question: is Morbius bad or just misunderstood?

Marvel’s Morbius came out in theaters April 1 and is currently playing in one near you.
