“M3GAN” Review

What’s supposed to be a child’s perfect companion is soon to become the next killer. M3gan is the story of what happens when that friendly companion gets a little too protective over her very own best friend. Now the question is how do you stop her.

M3gan stars “Get Out’s” Allison Williams who fully takes on the role of career driven woman who suddenly gets a surprise when she must take in her niece after her sister and brother in law are killed in a motor accident. The problem is now she has to figure out how to be a parent and create the next great AI toy without her niece being taken away.

M3gan is truly a very original horror movie that actually has a lot of comedy throughout. Audiences may not realize just how scary things are, especially with the surprise singing that M3gan does throughout.

Additionally the actresses that play and voice the robotic doll both do an exceptional job with making M3gan as realistic as she is on the big screen. Aime Donald makes her big screen debut and reportedly did all the creative stunts that M3gan had to perform including crawling on all fours. Similarly Raven’s Home’s Jenna Davis completely nailed the script perfectly as both actresses meshed the character flawlessly, almost would realize it was two different actresses.

All in all at just about an hour 45 minutes, M3gan is a horror movie that will have you laughing and even tearing up a bit in some scenes. One might call M3gan the next Chucky with a slight Artificial Intelligence thrown in. The Universal film came out in theaters January 6th and is currently playing in one near you.
