“Knock At The Cabin” Review

M. Night Shyamalan‘s latest suspense thriller is giving new definition to the word apocalypse. It’ defined through five crucial pillars of humanity that one family must make the ultimate sacrifice to save humanity before it’s to late.

The pillars: malice, nurturing, healing and guidance is creatively portrayed in the characters who have prophetic vision that leads them to the unwilling family. Played by actors including, Harry Potter‘s Rupert Grint, Guardian’s Dave Bautista, Old’s Nikki Amuka- Bird and Little Women’s Abby Quinn, all were perfectly cast to portray the 4 pillars.

Similarly the family portraying what is Shyamalan’s first openly gay family, which is of course a bold move as he moves to being more welcoming to all. The family is played by Frozen‘s Jonathan Groff and Ben Aldridge who has a unique sense of chemistry and protection for their adopted daughter, Wen (Kristen Cui, in her first every full length feature).

All in all Knock at the Cabin is a movie for anyone who seeks the suspense and thrill with a little bit of wonder all along. Ultimately the film has to thinking about everything as one figures out just what the family is going to do next. The thriller came out in theaters February 3 and is currently playing in one near you.
