“Knights of the Zodiac” REVIEW

The Goddess of War, Athena is back in the form of a young girl named Sienna. Now there’s just one thing left, what knight will protect her? That’s were a young orphan, named Seiya comes in, but does he have what it’s take to leave his past behind in order to fully embrace being a true knight of the Zodiac.

At just over 2 hour run time, Knights of the Zodiac is sort of another Star Wars type movie. Seiya, like Luke, must embrace his natural abilities and use the pain and loss of his sister to save that of another. Additionally, There is also a struggle between good and evil in that of the adopted mother of young Sienna, which one could make comparisons to Darth Vader.

The film does star a few familiar faces including Jumanji’s Madison Iseman as Sienna as well as Pacific Rim‘s Mackenyu and X-Men‘s Famke Janssen, who does nothing short of exceling in the complicated struggle between right and wrong. One might even remember the same struggle of Jean Grey in X-men embraced throughout that saga. Janssen in particular carried that same passion in her new role in Knights of the Zodiac.

All in all, the film takes you on a mythical journey, set in modern times as we see ancient characters resurrected and decisions taken as to the future of the new world.

Knights of the Zodiac came out in theaters May 12, 2023 and is currently playing in one near you.
