“It Ends With Us” REVIEW

Colleen Hoover’s bestseller is quickly becoming one of the top grossing films of the summer, though it wasn’t enough to dethrone Deadpool and Wolverine. The powerful story about love, courage and ultimately making difficult choices brought in over 50 million over the weekend as it opened on Aug 7, 2024.

The film stars Age of Adeline’s Blake Lively as Lily Bloom, a young woman with a dream of owning a flower shop. Through it she finds love which ultimately turns into a childhood nightmare that she had once tried to put behind her. Lively does nothing short of excelling in having audiences completely captivated by her performance. The witty banter between her and Ryle (played by Justin Baldoni) keeps you entertained and things heat up even more as their relationship blossoms in spite of the reunion of her old flame, Atlas (Brandon Sklenar), who in the end ultimately recognized the same signs and helps Lily discover the truth and be strong enough to make that difficult decision.

All in all, It Ends With Us is a beautiful yet tragic story of Domestic violence which 1 out of 3 Women a year in the US ultimately experience in their relationships. It’s a reminder to all not to be afraid to walk away.

The film does an exceptional job of fully taking the book and bringing it to life and any fan of Hoover’s needs to see this on the big screen. You won’t regret it.
