“Hypnotic” REVIEW

It’s a parent’s worse nightmare when their beloved child goes missing and it’s even worse when that parent is a detective. Now it’s up to him to find his only child in a series of clues that begin to resemble that of a Hypnotic circumstance. The real question is just who is the hypnotic and what is the real mission.

At an hour, thirty three minute run time, Hypnotic is a roller coaster ride of a movie that is far from predictable. Just when you start to understand, the director throws yet another curve ball to keep you guessing till the very end and maybe even after, if one stays for the credits.

The film stars Ben Affleck as Danny, the father determined to find his little girl and Alice Braga as the woman determined to find the girl first. Ultimately, the casting choice is spot on as both Afflict and Braga are no stranger to this double agent type of role. Additionally there is this special charm to both that wind up making them irresistible to the other.

The film also stars William Fichtner as the man also with a clear mission, though throughout the film, one might wonder just what that mission truly is. All in all, Fichtner takes on the same character as his “Crash” days where there is no coincidence in a series of likely events.

Truly this movie will have audiences not wanting to look away, because if they do they are sure to miss a key point to Hypnotic. Furthermore the world explores the aspect of Hypnotism including just how dangerous and unpredictable it truly can be. It also touches on the dangerous tactics that government agencies have been know to use to further control a truly gifted person.

Hypnotic came out in theaters May 12 and is currently showing in one near you. See it for a roller coaster of a good time into the world of hypnotism.
