HHN— Another long night to go

Hey all you, out there in the blogosphere.  It’s been a while, but I’m back, ready to write wrongs and feed information to my faithful viewers of this blog.  As you can see the title of this blog is HHN.  For those that don’t know what HHN is, that is the ever popular Halloween Horror nights and we are nearly half way done with the 21 frightful nights.  As far as I can tell, Halloween Horror nights 2011 is nothing short of a success and we can thank that to our wonderful patrons that come every year for the best in the business.

This year, Universal Studios is pleased to bring the crowd 6 scary mazes based on the best at the business guaranteed to bring the crowd exactly what they want, a scare worth scaring for.  We’ve got Alice Cooper’s Welcome to my nightmare and Hostel’s Hunting season, in addition to a mazed based on the movies like The Thing and the infamous Wolfman with his curse of Talbot Hall.  La Llorona has her own maze this year inspired by Diego Luna’s vision and of course, Rob Zombie is back with his house of a thousand corpses.  Scream has gone to the backlot this year with a different Scream image around every corner as guests navigate through the streets of Whoville, past the psycho house and through the crash site of War of the Worlds.

If you want to know more, you just got to check out Halloween Horror nights and hurry before you miss you chance and Halloween Horror nights disappears for another year.

Halloween- Who does it right?

When looking at all the different halloween theme park attractions, there is  only one that does Halloween justice, Universal’s Halloween Horror Night.  This year is especially just right with five brand new mazes and the return of the Bill and Ted’s Excellent Halloween adventure as well as Rob Zombie’s House of 1000 Corpses in 3D Zombievision.

The terror tram has it’s own “Scream” element and the scare zones are to dye for.

Of course, it’s no wonder Universal is king of Horror, after all they invented the genre with the ultimate monster movies like Frankenstein, The Bride, and Dracula to name a few.

So if you want a good scare, don’t forget to visit, USH’s Halloween Horror Nights, 23 days of terror that is the most fearful it could ever be.  You won’t be sorry, trust me.

Reliving Great TV

Lately, I’ve been obsessed with specific TV shows like

Castle.  I just got the third season and am catching up with al of them .

Of course, I also live for shows like Boy Meets World, Sabrina, and even Charles ‘N Charge and Reba.  And my all time favorite being, Full House.

TV is great, there as so many great shows, like Lost, Desperate Housewives and an all new Body of Proof, but if you don’t relive them at some point, then what can you do?

Movies are great, but TV builds suspense.  Movies never change, great TV grows and creates more suspense.

Waiting

Been a while.
Sorry to all my fellow readers.
I’ve been on vacation fro work and so blogging I guess I couldn’t get into.
But I’m back!  Here to give you thought provoking ideas to which to invoke your mind to contemplate that which I am writing.  I don’t know.  Do I ever?  Maybe I do but than again I may not.  That’s for you to decide.  Stay tuned for my next write.

What decade or era do you find particularly fascinating?

The renaissance era particularly intrigues me, mostly because of their wardrobe.  I’ve always imagined ever since I was a little girl, dressing up in one of those fancy ball gowns and going to one of their festivals.  Of course, I know that the renaissance was partial to those of the upper class, but a girl can dream, can’t she?

Some of the greatest writers came out of the renaissance, the greatest being playwright, story teller, William Shakespeare.  What I wouldn’t give to go back in time and be able to stand in the Globe Theater and watch Hamlet with fresh new eyes?  How amazing would that be?

And don’t forget some of the greatest artists, like Micheangelo and yes, even Di Vinci with his Mona Lisa.  It would be great to be able and see exactly what Di Vinci saw that inspired him to paint that magnificient woman.

There is so much depth to this one era in time.  One can spend a lifetime studying and still not know every single piece of the puzzle.  But that’s why it intrigues me most.  Every single decade that has past been influenced in some way by this tremendous period and I respect it.

Truth or dare?

What a inquisitive  game?  Teenagers know it most well.  It’s a game that could be good but at the same time it could go dreadfully wrong.  It could get people in trouble very, very easily.

You ask which is worse, true or dare?

Truth… not even wants or even likes to hear the truth.  You think it’s safe to go with the truth instead of being dared, well, it’s actually more dangerous than you can even consider.

Ever heard the saying, “Sticks and stones will break my bones, but words can never hurt me.”  Well, this is false.  Someone can break your leg but the wound will eventually heal, you may not even remember the full pain of the break, but a word, especially a word from someone you care deeply about, that will stick with you for years and years to come.  You’ll remember that one word when you are laying in bed next to someone else or walking down the aisle of a grocery story and you’ll think, (fill in the blank)…

Now a dare, it may seem dangerous but dares don’t last.  Someone could dare you to kiss someone or cut your hair or something else, that’s harmless.  You’ll forget that kiss, the hair will grow back, there’s no emotional damage to dares unless words are spoken.

I love words, but words are so dangerous.  That’s why I’m very careful what I write, but at the same time, words give freedom.  You can write whatever you want and for the most part, people will read it and forget about it in a day, but when you put force behind those words, that’s when the danger happens.  People get hurt and never forget.

I never want to hurt people.  I just want to touch them in a way that makes them think and consider their words before they hurt others.

That’s all I want to do and I can and I hope it will make a difference.

Random ideas!!!

What’s going on?

It’s 11:32.

Why am I here?

Haven’t a clue.  I’m sitting here waiting for one whole hour.  Oh, the joy of carpooling.  It really isn’t all that bad, but I could think of other things.  Not really.  If I wasn’t sitting here I’d still be sitting in my car on the way to work or sitting in the bus trying to get here on time.  But I’m not.  I’m sitting outside the breakroom, writing whatever random stuff comes to my mind.  You know that’s the best way to generate any kind of great ideas.

In fact, I challenge anyone who wants to, take a blank piece of paper (or a empty word document) set a time limit and just start writing.  Don’t think, just write and just see what you come up with.

You’d be surprised and shocked all at the same time.

Try it.  You’ll thank me later.

Only Child Syndrome

People think being an only child is the greatest thing in the whole world.  Well, coming from an only child perspective, I have a different take on this who idea.

Let me tell you being an only child is not all it’s cracked up to be.  People think being an only child, you get all the attention, but at the same time, you are also by yourself nearly all the time, except when you decide to call friends or go over to their house, but half the time at least while you are young, you can’t just pick up and go over to a friends house unless you live right next door.

You have a lot of time to imagine what life would be like to have a sister or brother and you create fake brothers and sisters to play with, pick on and just talk to.

One thing I loved to do when I was a little girl was go out to my back yard and pretend that my yard was a magical kingdom and each item had a different magical power:  my thinking rock helped me come up with new ideas and my singing tree helped me climb to the top of the tree to see God’s amazing glory from it’s roof top, even though I never climbed that high and when it would snow, I’d take my sled and go out to the little hill in back and sled down it, protecting my hands from the coldness and having all the fun in  the world.  It was the life, but what I wouldn’t of given for a sister or brother to share my experiences with.

Abandoned on the side of the LA River

It makes me sick.  Sick to think that any human being could be so cruel as to abandon harmless puppies by putting them inside a black plastic sack and tying them to a fence beside the LA River.  Whoever could do this, obviously has NO heart.  They shouldn’t even have any kind of pet or children.  In fact, I’d hate to see what they’d do if they DID have children.

Well, I’m happy to say, my household has two new additions, Jackie and Tippy.  They are  nine week old lab, shepherd, boxer puppies and they are just too cute.

My parents were originally only going to take one, because the person that found the three puppies couldn’t keep all of them because of where they lived.  In fact, they almost ended up at the pound, but my parents took one look at them and fell in love.

Jackie actually took to my dad from the moment he held her, practically went to sleep in his arms and Tippy well she’s all puppy.

Pictures will be available momentarily so that all can see what sweet little pups these two sisters are.  I’m not kidding really.

Blogging: Any time Any where!

The nice thing about blogs, you can work on one nearly any place.  It especially makes it convenient when your computer is a laptop and you have access to an internet hotspot.  You can literally go out in the middle of nowhere and just start writing.

This is one thing that I have always told myself that I want to do.  I love nature and I think it would be so awesome one day just to pack up my computer, phone, and instruments into my little 2005 Chevy Cavelier and drive out to some forest or beach type setting and just start writing and/or playing.

I’m a writer and a musician.  Both passions are equally important to me, although I don’t play as much as I would like, I still love taking out my saxophone and playing whatever my mind comes up with.  It’s intriguing what the mind can imagine and send to the brain which then transports to the fingers to create something that is awesome.

I can be anywhere at work and yet my mind can be somewhere else, off on some faraway journey to the great unknown that I will later record for the world to read and/or listen to when they turn on their radios or open up their newspapers.

But alas, when the end of the day rolls around and I wake up from my daydream, I am here again, sitting in front of my computer or sheet music.  I close up the documents on my desktop and put away my instruments and I sigh, because I know one day, I will take that long drive, I will get away for a few short hours and I will play till my hearts content, I will write till my hands bleed, because I know that is what I’m meant to do and I will do it.  I mean it.  I will.
