Kenneth Branagh is at it one more time. Coming out of retirement after a medium is murdered in a spooky house, now it is up to him to figure out ‘who done it’.
Haunting in Venice is a film that has just enough scare along with suspense as it carefully uncovers the murder of a beloved daughter. The film will have you in suspense from the first moment on to the stunning conclusion. Just like Murder on the Orient Express and Death on the Nile and in true Agatha Christie style, in Venice everyone is a suspect.
The cast includes of course Branagh reprising his role as Hercule Poirot, who as director, certainly knows how to suavely investigate even when all seems supernatural. Additionally Michelle Yeoh uses her “Everything” acting skills to stunningly get inside the head of a renown medium and truly make audiences believe and invest in what they see. She is a stunning actress and this part further enhances her talent on the screen.
Other actors, include “50 Shades‘” Jamie Dornan as the “Doctor” as well as Tina Fey as the help, Dylan Corbett- Bader as the Baker, Kelly Reilly as the greif-stricken mother and Jude Law as the Doctor’s son. All of which do an exceptional job of creating suspense while ultimately trying to prove their innocence. The only thing is everyone has a secret. The question is who’s secret is the deadliest.
Haunting in Venice came out in theaters September 15 and is currently playing in a theater near you.
