“Fall Guy” REVIEW

“You fall down, you get right back up. How far would you go for the one that you love?”

That’s the heart of Fall Guy as it pays a good amount of respect to the men and women that go invisible everyday just to make the “actor” look that much better. It’s the stuntmen that put their lives on the line for good movies. Fall Guy also has more than one meaning in this blockbuster film. In addition to the literal fall guy, there are also metaphors to what a fall guy really does. In a sense, they cover their actor, no matter the cost and Universal’s Fall Guy does a awesome job with that story line.

The action packed film stars Barbie’s Ryan Gosling as Colt, the iconic stuntman. All in all, we see alot of character development, much more than his previous role, though he did phenomenal as Ken. In Fall Guy, we see Gosling at the top of his game to rock bottom all in a matter of minutes an he does an awesome job. In a sense when he gets back on his feet, it’s almost like a mystery to uncover the truth while protecting the ones he loves.

Emily Blunt also stars in this film as camera woman turned. director and she also does fabulous. Using her Jungle Cruise mindset, she brings the adventure mixed with the heart to truly capture a heart pounding performance. Of course with Gosling and Blunt a little romance is not far behind, but the do it in a way that doesn’t make it a overly sappy love story.

At 2 hour and 7 minute run time, Universal’s Fall Guy will have you on the edge of your seats with excitement. There are so many awesome stunts that truly showcase the unsung heroes of the movie industry in such a way that will make you look twice next time an “actor” supposedly does a spectacular stunt. 9 times out of ten, that is done through the powerful editing and the amazing braveness of stunt men and women.
