First it was a room, now it’s escalated to that of a train as our original survivors of Escape Room are roped in again with 4 other people, all of which have survived similar games. Taylor Russell and Logan Miller reprise their roles as Zoey and Ben set out on a car trip to New York City in an effort to find Minos, the man responsible for the deadly escape room. Terrified of being trapped in an enclosed plane the two decide to venture inside the New York Subway after failing to track down Menos at an abandoned warehouse. The question is who will make it out this time in the game that includes escaping an electrified train, running from quick sand and braving an acid rain storm.
In addition to the return of Russell and Miller, Escape Room: Tournament of Champions also adds new characters including Thomas Cocquerel as the faith filled preist who previously survived his game filled with other God fearing man, as well as Holland Roden, who played the social media influencer, Carlito Olivero, the young man who just wants to get home to his wife and Indya Moore as the sixth survivor. Ultimately the addition to the new cast made this sequel even more enjoyable as each character added their own sense of humor and know how in their own cleaver way of figuring out how to solve the puzzles in an attempt to make it out alive.
Additionally, Escape Room Tournament of Champions has a few unsuspecting surprises that will even make the most skeptically of views wonder how that happened. The newest Escape room takes the whole experience to the next level as just when one thinks they are free. Honestly it leaves you thinking when will it end. Even the ending is not the end as one can definitely see a third film in the making without them saying so.
