“Emergency Call” TV Show Review

Hosted by actor, Luke Wilson, a new show aired Monday September 28th on ABC network for the world to have a true bird’s eye glimpse into what the “real” first responders experience when they receive millions of 9-1-1 calls daily. Anywhere from random calls of escape animals in the road to more life threatening ones of potential home break ins as well as true medical emergency, this show in its first episode only had audiences captivated by the realism of what these individuals behind the phone must deal with.

As in a real emergency, Emergency Call holds a sense of urgency as in one hour we as an audience experience roughly ten to fifteen situations that show the rawness of the material that the creators are trying to convey.

In a lot of ways, this show, which will air new episodes every Monday, bares a lot of similarities to the 2013 film, The Call which starred Halle Berry and Abigail Breslin in their most suspenseful roles ever.

Aside from Luke Wilson, who is hosting the documentary style show, there are new faces in the cast as it seems real life first responders are being used in real life scenarios. The scenarios of course are slightly changed to protect privacy however that being said, “Emergency Call” is definitely a show that is worth seeing. If one misses the live episodes, the show is also streaming via Hulu the next day after the live broadcast.
