“Drop” REVIEW

It’s a classic case of what happens when online dating goes wrong. Violet is a widow with a history of domestic abuse even that her son was a witness to. Persuaded by her sister, she attempts an online dating profile. There, she meets mysterious Henry and agrees to go out on a date, but that date turns into nightmare when she begins to get random text messages telling her to kill her date. Will she go through with the random request or be able to escape and perhaps have a chance at a second date.

Universal Pictures’ Drop stars Unbreakable Boy’s Meghan Fahy in what is certainly a comparable film. Fahy definitely has that motherly charm especially when it comes to doing whatever it takes for her son. The mysterious date, played by “It Ends with Us’” Brandon Sklenar equally carries that woman charm and will instantly have audiences saying, “No, not him.”

All in all, at an hour and half, Drop will literally have you on the edge of your seat in the cat and mouse type game, where “Everyone is a Suspect”. The ending will truly leave you thinking “I knew it” as it surprisingly ends with a happy ending.

Universal’s Drop came out in theaters April 11th and is currently playing in one near you.
