One touch without a rope is all it takes.
It’s the fear that a mother and her two sons cling to in order to stay safe. For many parents this fear of evil is prevalent, but what extremes are parent’s willing to take for their children’s ultimate safety?
Lionsgate’s latest suspense thriller stars “King‘”s Halle Berry who definitely has a knack for the suspense. She truly captures the fear throughout, especially when her own sons begin questioning her. Additionally, she also has that self sacrificing role that will have audiences calling out as she faces that decision.
Similarly the two boys playing her sons equally have the same sense of suspense as well as a bit of rule breaking when they try to test boundaries. Anthony B. Jenkins and Percy Daggs VI star as the twins and each one bring their own uniqueness that makes it refreshing to watch such young actors portraying suspenseful roles.
All in all, the film will leave you questioning everything and even drawing some similarities to faith and the ultimate question of good versus evil. When all is said and done, it will leave you wondering and waiting to see if in fact the rope is the only thing keeping the family safe. Finally the last scene does hint at a possible sequence as though it seems like the boys are safe, but the real question is are they really? Only time will tell.
Never Let Go came out in theaters September 19 and is currently playing in a theater near you.
