It’s been over 2 years but bikes are taking over as the cities of Pacioma, Arleta, and Panorama City decide to close down Van Nuys Blvd on a Sunday in order to provide for a safe car free zone. Cyclists took to the streets beginning at 10 am and going all the way to 4 in the afternoon as they rode from San Fernando Road down Van Nuys Blvd to Roscoe Blvd in Panorama City.
Along the way there were numerous distractions including various water spots, vendors selling on the street to passerbyers and food trucks at the end of Van Nuys in front of the local Walmart. Both Council members Tony Cardenas and Nury Martinez came out to support the event as they took to the streets.
