Music Premiere at Local Restaurant in Oxnard, Calif.

On Sunday, September 22, 2013, KNS Rockstar hosted a release party at Sugar Beets Restaurant where roughly 35 friends and family members showed their support of the couple’s music. As previously reported, KNS Rockstar is a husband and wife team whose main purpose is to create, promote and perform positive hip hop music that will reach a wider age range.  They travel across the United States to visit different schools and festivals promoting their “Stop the Bullying and Youth Violence” tour.

9/11- 12 Years Later

September 11, 2001 was a wake up call for all Americans.  It was on this day where four coordinated terrorist attacks organized by the Islamic terrorist group, al-Qaeda, flew four planes into the World Trade Center, Pentagon and the fourth which landed in a field in Shanksville, PA that was on target to Washington D.C.  Thousands of civilians and service officials lost their lives and twelve years later on Wednesday September 11, 2013, ceremonies across the United States are taking place to remember the fallen.

One ceremony, on board the USS Iowa, welcomed a small number of Los Angeles County residents, who paid tribute to them.  Watch now, to see and experience how Los Angeles remembered on this iconic day.

MLK- 50 Years Later

On August 28, 1963, the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom, changed history for all Americans. The most rememberable was the iconic “I have a dream” speech by the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Now 50 years later, here in Los Angeles, Calif., public officials and labor rights activists, remember the past and look toward the future with three distinct events on Wednesday August 28, 2013.

Watermelon Fest 2013

From Aug. 16 through 18, 2013, with assistance from the National Watermelon Association, the Sunland Tujunga Lion’s Club hosted the 52nd Annual Watermelon Festival at the Legendary Rose Bowl, located in Pasadena California.

The Festival consisted of the crowning of a new royal Court, done by the 2013 Watermelon Queen, Amber Nolan from Alabama.  The young men and women are chosen from students of Verdugo Hills High School, who have sold the most tickets for his or her organization.  The Royal court this year, includes, Watermelon Queen Ericka Cunningham, Watermelon King, John Martinez, Princesses Jessica Lutton and Meghan Bazak, Crown Prince Marlon Rizo and Princes, Brandon  Roberts, and Eric Owens.

Festival Tickets were 10 dollars for adults and 5 for children and includes free watermelon and a spin on the watermelon wheel for a chance of winning additional prizes.

The Lion’s club uses funds raised by the festival to help sponsor various youth and community activities throughout the Sunland- Tujunga area.

A County Tradition in Ventura, Calif.

From July 31 through August 11, Southern Calif., residents have the opportunity to view the prized livestock, award winning flowers and much more. However not everyone will have to chance to watch a parade or run in costume in downtown Ventura.

Monthly Full Moon Hikes in Southern California

Once a month, Los Angeles County residents and visitors have the opportunity to stroll through Coldwater Canyon Park located on the ridgeline between Studio City and Beverly Hills and view the beauty of the city in a rural setting.  For just five dollars, people of all ages and skill levels can walk along a choice of three different trails:  a kids hike for those who just want to enjoy the scenery, a medium hike for the average hike and an advanced hike for those who wish to challenge themselves with an hour long hike up and down the side of the mountain.

All hikes are under the supervision of a trained associate of TreePeople, an organization celebrating 40 years of its work and dedication to preserving the environment through education and restoration of the parks and recreation.

World Fest 2013

On May 19, 2013 Los Angeles Residents came out to the largest earth day event located at Woodley Park in Lake Balboa, Calif.  Accompanied by a variety of musical performances, there were many opportunities to learn about various ways to preserve the environment and live healthy lives.

Like last year, the 24th Annual America’s Family Pet Expo returned to the Orange County Fairgrounds in Southern California.  With it, they brought familiar acts like Splash Dogs as well as new editions.

Christmas In Spring

On Saturday, April, 13, 2013, over 1100 Los Angeles County residents were invited to this year’s 21st Annual Christmas In Spring Event at MEND. The event put on by Universal Studios Hollywood, and the local food pantry provided individuals with just a little Christmas cheer in April and it was all because of the work of over a hundred volunteers in the San Fernando Valley.

Thai New Year in Hollywood, Calif.

It’s a new year, Thai New Year that is and on Sunday, April 7, 2013, residents of Hollywood Calif. joined together to remember those who have passed and celebrating what is to come in the New Year.
