“Captain Marvel” Review

Captain Marvel comes to life in the form of emerging actress Brie Larson. Coming from a smaller independent film, Room, which received various nominations in the 88th Annual Academy Awards, Larson takes a more action packed approach to protecting everyone from the evil that is challenging Earth in an intergalactic war between two different entities. taking up the role as Carol Danvers in her epic transformation from quiet girl to powerful superhero that would give even the Avengers a run for their money, as she introduces the concept of merging with the powerful superheroes like Ironman, The Incredible Hulk and yes even Captain America herself.

In her spinoff movie, one see her interacting with Nick Fury (played by Samuel L. Jackson) who has been in nearly every Avengers movie beginning with the first Ironman. His role as the mysterious man with a hidden agenda, Jackson has a way of keeping the audience from realizing what he really wants. This time its through Captain America’s pager which seamlessly links this film to the Marvel Universe and leaves everyone with a mystery as to how the End Game will play out.

Captain Marvel is a highly engaging movie, coming from the original comic book series by the late great Stan Lee. It includes explosive fight scenes and highly effective 3D effects to fully bring audiences into a new sense of comic book. The film will ultimately bring light to one of Lee’s untold comics that only diehard fans know and love and Larson does an exceptional job of portraying a very positive female role model in a predominantly male audience. She does so in a way that is inspiring to all girls showing that she can be just as tough as her future “Avengers” team.

Captain Marvel came out in theaters March 8, 2019 and is currently streaming via Disney plus with an active subscription.
