“Camp Hideout” REVIEW

It’s “Home Alone” wilderness edition.

When Noah seeks the refuge of a Christian Camp, against his own will, he finds he is in way over his head. The upbeat lively crew tries to get Noah out of his shell and living life. That is until a gang of bandits find out he has what they are looking for. Now all bets are off as Noah tries to protect his new found friends and keep out of the bandit’s dangerous clutches.

Then there is the Camp owner, Falco, and his watch dog, Lazarus, who seek to keep technology out of good clean camp fun. Between him and the Bandits, one isn’t sure who to fully trust, though one must say, when it comes down to it, the power of friendship and kindness is enough to shine in the heartfelt Christian film.

That being said, the film does star a few familiar faces including High School Musical’s Corbin Bleu who proves more than the eye expects especially with the end scene that touches you the the core of what the film is trying to do. Also Back to the Future‘s Christopher Lloyd is perfectly cast as Falco as he portrays that typical cranky old man who seems like he doesn’t want to be bothered, until it actually matters. Finally the film stars “This is Us’s” Amanda Leighton and relative newcomer, Ethan Drew, both of who fit right in to their roles and deliver performances that audiences will be able to wholeheartedly enjoy.

That being said, Camp Hideout is everything one can expect in a Christian based film. It’s done in such a way that is refreshing to see good clean film with a good clean message, while not being overly preachy. In the end, it allows audiences to draw their own conclusions and walk away with a little more hope for humanity. The idea that no one is truly gone, just distracted.

Camp Hideout came out in theaters and is currently playing in limited ones near you.
