“Boys In The Boat” REVIEW

It’s the unbelievable tale of the underdog team that rises against all odds to become Olympic champions.

Based on the book by Daniel James Brown, The Boys In the Boat follows University of Washington students with little to nothing in their pockets. In the middle of the Great depression when money and jobs are tight, 8 boys find themselves competing for a spot on a “rowing” team. The only question is do they have what it takes to put their own pride aside and work as a team? Even more so, Does that team have what it takes to take the gold?

The film stars a few known actors including The Great Gatsby’s Joel Egerton as well as Fantastic Beasts Callum Turner, and Anything But You‘s Hadley Robinson as the top. That being said, all the actors, not just the top three did an outstanding job in portraying a real life event. It shows the influence power that a team really must endure as they bind together to achieve greatness.

Directed by George Clooney, one could also admit this is certainly one of his best films yet. With great cinematography, an awesome storyline and great music to drive the story from start to finish; one certain will be glued from the first scene on.

The Boys in the Boat came out in theaters, Dec 25 and is currently playing in one near you.
