“Better Man” REVIEW

The next “Greatest Showman” is Robbie Williams in his biopic film. The film takes audiences on a roller coaster ride as we watch little Robert Williams, in the shadow of his famed father. His dream of taking the stage takes off when he is chosen for a British boy band, “Take That”. Unfortunately like many pop stars, Williams falls into the same issues including, the money that was his ultimate downfall to drugs, family, women and ultimately a bout of depression that nearly destroyed his career.

Better Man shows all of this and more as Williams portrays himself on screen in one of the rawest ways. Claiming he is less evolved, Williams goes through the story as a monkey, but it is his voice that captivates audiences.

Additionally the film also stars Jonno Davies as a younger Williams as well as Raechelle Dunno as Williams first real love interest. Steve Pembleton and Allison Steadman step in as Williams estranged father and his one true fan, his grandmother, who always encouraged Williams to go for the gold.

Better Man which came out for limited audiences Christmas Day 2024 is a movie for anyone who loves to relive the magic of the 90’s though like many musical stars, there is a bit of controversy. That being said the film does leave audiences hopeful for a “Better Man” as the climax is true evidence of such. It’s playing in theaters which will be expanded on January 12 so that more can see the true tragic story in a very unique way.
