“We Live In Time” REVIEW
It’s the idea of living in the now and appreciating everything one has while they have it. That is “We Live In Time”. It’s a romantic tale of two broken individuals just coming out of divorces and having a second chance at love. The only thing is let’s through cancer in the way and see what is to become of this couple. Will they give up or fight to live every moment they have, one step at a time?
The film stars power performances by Fighting With My Family‘s Florence Pugh, who brings that same drive and determination to “We Live in Time”. She definitely has that romantic flair down to a science and has a fun way of showing it. Additionally, there is definitely a strong chemistry between Pugh and The Amazing Spiderman’s Andrew Garfield, who like Pugh, brings that same nerdy aspect that he brought to the role of Peter Parker. It is certainly entertaining to watch the two of them interact on the screen in such an innocent, pure story about the importance of family values and supporting one another no matter the cost.
All in all, “We Live in Time” is truly the next great American love story. Done in true A24 standard, it will have you not wanting to miss a moment of the film that tells the decade long story of two lovers who find each other later in life after one seems broken and shatter. The writers do use a good amount of time jumping from past to present in a way that if you miss a scene, you will be lost trying to figure out what is happening now.
Additionally, the film is rated R for definitely a more mature audience. There is quite a bit of language and nudity that may not be appropriate for the young, however, that being said, it is totally appropriate for anyone who longs for a great love story and their next opportunity of happily ever after.
We Live in Time came out in theaters early October and is currently showing in a theater near you.
