The 2020 https://www.theamas.com/aired live from the Microsoft Theater in Hollywood at 5 p.m. PST on Sunday November 22. The show kicked off the night with a stellar performance by Justin Bieber singing his song, “Lonely” on a single stage with mirrors reflecting to look like there are more than one Bieber on stage. Bieber than broke out into a Christian- based song, Hold Me, which he performed while standing under an illuminated cross above him. Shawn Mendes came out after and starting to sing the song “Monster” as Bieber joined in duet as the opening performance sneak peeked the World Premiere of the unexpected duo.
Hosted by actress, Tariji P. Henson, she danced on the stage to a theatrically “Brand New Day”, which broke out into several other songs including “Pimp” and “Savage” which she danced before welcoming everyone to the awards show as the audience included pin ups of some popular performers.

Sierra was the first presenter of the night as she awarded Favorite Soul R&B Album to The Weeknd for their album “After Hours”. His speech included dedicating his award to the late great Prince whom his inspiration comes from.
Katy Perry and Darius Rucker recreated her song, “Only Love” as the next performance of the night.
Actress Cara Delevingne presented favorite pop/rock song to Dua Lipa for “Don’t Stop Now” as she accepted the award virtually from London.
The Weeknd performed, “In Your Eyes”, live in downtown LA alongside legendary sax player Kenny G and Megan Thee Stallion performed “Body” from her latest album, Good News live on the Microsoft Stage.
Dancing with the Stars’ Derek Hough presented the next award from Country song to Dan and Shay with Justin Bieber for “10,000 Hours”.
Scottish singer Lewis Capaldi sang the soulful “Before You Go” and Billie Eilish performed, “Therefore I Am” for the first time on Live Television.
Bachelorette star, Tasha Adams presented soul/R&B Female Artist to Doja Cat.
Nelly performed a unique and nostalgic “Country Grammar” Medley live on stage.
The American Music Awards has finally diversified with the first ever Latin Music categories as Bad Bunny presented the first ever Latin music award for Latin female artist to Becky G.
Jennifer Lopez and Maluma performed their world premiere performance of “Pa’ti” and “Lonely” from their upcoming Movie, Marry Me.
Actress Laverne Cox presents rap/hip hop song to Wap for “Get a Bucket and a Mop”.
Dua Lipa sang live from London her hit, “Levitation”.

Lil’ Baby rapped to his “Emotionally Scarred”.
The Latin Album presented by Netflix actress Christian Serratos to Bad Bunny for his album, “Las Que No Iban a Salir”.
Kristin Cavalleri gave out the award for best soul/R&B male artist to The Weeknd.
BB Rexha teamed up with Doja Cat in a mind-blowing performance of “Baby I’m Jealous” and Megan Fox took the stage briefly to announced Machine Kelley performance of “My Bloody Valentine.”
Hip hop artist, G-Easy presented Best Collaboration of the Year to Dan and Shay with Justin Bieber for “10,000 Hours.”
And Tariji P. Henson presented the final award of the night and most coveted fan-based Artist of the Year to Taylor Swift who streamed live in her hometown studio. Swift also took the fan-based awards for pop rock vocal female and favorite music video. That brings Swifts total of AMAs to 32 which is the most any artist has ever received.
And BTS wrapped up the night live from Korea, with their song, “Life Goes On.”
