“Abigail” REVIEW

Universal’s next vampire is coming for you, this time in the form of an innocent little girl. When a band of criminal’s attempt to kidnap an underworld leader’s daughter, the joke will soon be on them. Now it is a race of life or death from the one thing they thought would be safe.

Abigail is truly a unique vampire story that will have you surprised every step of the way. Starring Matilda’s Alisha Weir as Abigail, she definitely has her own unique scare tactics, while trying to remain sweet and innocent. All in all Weir is definitely developing some unique skills that will be interesting to watch as she hopefully continues on her acting endeavor.

Additionally the film stars Scream’s Melissa Berrera as Joey as well as Lisa Frankenstein’s Kathryn Newton, Beauty and the Beast‘s Dan Stevens and the late Angus Cloud, who the film is dedicated to after his death last year from an accidental drug overdose. All of whom do an awesome job at making the story that much more believable so that there is not a dry seat in the house.

Abigail which came out in theaters April 19 is currently playing in a theater near you. As it is rated R, viewer discretion is highly encouraged. There are several jump scares and quite a bit of graphic violence that may not be suitable to the faint of heart. For true horror fans, especially of Vampire genre, Abigail is definitely worth seeing. It’s gives new definition to the quote “Children can be such monsters.”
