20 years have passed since the tragic day that rocked America and made everyone fall to their needs. Even still, residents still come out as in Bakersfield the space between the fire and police station was filled with spectators.
The event took place at 9:30 am on 9-11-21 and included live music from the fire and law enforcement pipes and drums. The honor guard additionally hoisted and lowered the flag to half mast as a fly by from the national guard made its presence known.
Speakers including the incident commander, who was sent to the pentagon 20 years ago spoke of his emotions as well as fire and police chiefs shared their thoughts and experiences.
Volunteers included the boy and girl scouts of America who helped at the tables, provided free water for spectators and cleaned up after the event.
